Delaware County Rural Healthcare Alliance collaborative projects include:
· Educating area youth on careers in health professions – proactively
addressing healthcare worker shortages.
· Coordinating joint training of healthcare workers – increasing
availability of continuing medical education at a reduced cost to the
healthcare delivery system.
· Increasing capacity of health services by securing federal designations that
increase opportunities for clinician recruitment and retention.
· Increase access to oral health services.
· Facilitating a countywide emergency medical services volunteer recruitment and
retention campaign.
· Funding nutrition education curricula development to address the childhood
obesity epidemic locally.
· Providing educational and nutritional information to promote healthy weight gain
during pregnancy.
· Developing a directory of local health care and human services providers.
· Engaging in applied research to increase understanding of the relationship
between obesity and breast cancer risk.
